Distribution of Seeds to Farmers of Lamu County
More than 13,000 farmers from mpeketoni division on Thursday 6./04/2017 received free seeds from county government ahead of rain season.
The farmers drown from Bahari, Hongwe and Mkunumbi wards of which they received 2 kilo gram of seeds each.
About 11 tons of maize seeds, 1000 kg of cow peas and 1300 kg of green grams were distributed equally to farmers.
Speaking during the official launching of the seeds to farmers at Poromoko village, the deputy governor Eric Mugo said the free seeds distribution exercise is among the long sustainable plan that the county government is trying to put in place so that to address the issue of drought in future.
He argued farmers to work hard while government is there to assist them and asked them to be united and not to be divided by politics.

Also the deputy governor ,laid down the foundation of ECD for pupils of Promoko village.

At the same time the government sent health personnel with the beyond zero mobile clinic at Poromoko as measures to fight cholera outbreak in that area of which most children are affected.
Tens of people from that village turn out to receive treatment and thank county government for that effort.
