H.E Lamu County Governor, Fahim Yassin Twaha during the swearing-in ceremony of CECS that took place today 12th October 2017 at Mokowe Headquarters. While speaking to the congregation, He promised to talk to the MPs and Women representatives to submit a bill for salary increment and suitable allowances to the parliament for consideration by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), believing that this will be an effective way to rise the health sector whereby it will stop the regular strikes of the health workers.
He said there is a need to bring specialists in Lamu and also to build houses to accommodate health officers; this will make it suitable for their stay, enough equipment and medicines to provide suitable services to Lamu County residents.
Among the promises that he gave were; to end water shortage by supplying water from Tana River to Lamu, improving youth education through offering scholarships and fairness in bursary allocations, issuing of title deeds to the rightful land owners and compensating the owners whose land was used for Lamu county headquarters offices and to come up with a good building plan for Mokowe town which will lead to development of the town.
The governor thanked the previous CECs team for their sacrifices and commitment in serving Lamu County and urged the new ones to cooperate and work together to bring developments in Lamu County.
