Governor Fahim Twaha and Lamu County Leadership is hosting a delegation of Principal Secretaries and other senior Government officials led by Principal Secretary State Department for Interior, Dr.Karanja Kibicho and the Principal Secretary Department of Transport, Mr Solomon Kitungu.

Governor Fahim has commited to ensure there’s continued cooperation between the National Goverment and Lamu County Government towards ensuring there’s effective and efficient service delivery.

Key highlights of Governor’s statement:

1. Lamu endorses BBI report because it largely promotes Devolution. The report will ensure counties get more resources, from the current 15% to 35%

2. Once LAPSSET is fully operational, it will grow Lamu’s economy and the corridor at large by creating employment, business opportunities and improved standard of living for the community at large.

3. His administration is working with National Government towards the realization of the affordable housing agenda which is one of the pillars of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda.

4. Lamu County Government is committed to ensuring there’s proper planning at the Swahili Settlement Scheme, so as to cater for the new population and promote industrial and social economic growth in Lamu.
