Lamu County is undoubtedly on a path of transformation and I am honored to steer the leadership of Lamu alongside my fellow County Executives. Lamu is endowed with natural resources that allow the local community and potential investors to thrive on various economic activities such as Agriculture; Fishing, Animal husbandry and Tourism not forgetting oil and gas exploration currently underway. With a deep appreciation of how far Lamu County has come, the new devolution system, crystallized by our constitution has presented a huge opportunity ahead of our leadership, which we intend to capitalize on to put Lamu County on the global map of solutions and opportunities. We aim to build on our human resource through Education; improved infrastructure, and establish partnerships with other regions and nations to best capitalize on the opportunities that Lamu holds.
We have embarked on an integrated development framework to forge the next five years ahead of us to harness Lamu’s innate potential for growth. As we strive to improve the Lamu economy alongside the national Vision 2030 flagship projects within the county, it is important to reiterate that the voice of the people even amidst the expected economic take-off is supreme. Being entrusted with the leadership in Lamu, I aim to work closely with my partner, the Hon. Governor, my fellow leaders, the Lamu community, potential investors, and other stakeholders with the priority of serving the best interests of the people of Lamu
