Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWS) in Witu, Katsakakairu, Didewaride, Maisha Masha and Moa this week underwent an orientation training on Community Health Strategy.
The three-day education session focusing on maternal-child health care, was an extension of the partnership between Lamu County and Pharm Access’ Afya Uzazi Salama Program.
The training was coordinated by Pharm Access Representative Dennis Wali and Senior Public Health Officers from Lamu County.
The trainings are part of the Lamu County’s Department of Health’s strategy to expand the community healthcare knowledge base for its close-to-community providers, thereby improving service delivery and health at community level.
The training program will also be rolled out to Mpeketoni, Lamu and Faza Community Health Extension Workers.
Lamu County Government and Pharm Access have held a long-standing partnership, including on Health-related development projects that have registered fruitful impact on the community.
