Lamu Deputy Governor HE Abdul Hakim joined other elected and non elected leaders from the coastal region to drum up support for BBI bill in Lamu County.
Speaking while representing HE Governor Fahim Twaha, the DG urged Lamu County MCAs to pass the bill since it would unlock Lamu’s economic potential.
“ I would want to urge the MCAs to pass the bill when presented to the assembly next week. BBI sets to ensure an increased CRA capping from 15% to 35%, Ward development fund, improved blue economy as well as guarantee Economic and Political stability in Lamu and beyond” said the DG
He further reiterated that Lamu County Governor is fully behind BBI and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development agenda.
The event took place at Mwanaarafa and Mkunguni grounds respectively over the weekend.
