Governor Fahim Twaha and Safaricom Foundation Trustee, Rita Okuthe this afternoon led a delegation of County leadership in unveiling classrooms and sanitation facilities at Bora Moyo Primary School in Witu Ward.
The infrastructure, supported under Safaricom’s ‘Know and Grow Project’, boasts of 4 modern classrooms, 8 toilets and 100 desks.
Governor Fahim Twaha lauded Safaricom Foundation’s efforts terming the improvement in the infrastructure as a shot in the arm for the ongoing County Government’s efforts to increase retention and improve performance in primary schools in across the county.
While lauding Lamu West MP Hon.Stanley Muthama’s CDF program effortd to build 4 classes in the school in Bora Moyo Primary school to eight, Governor Fahim promised to initiate an electrification project for schools in the next financial year.
Safaricom Foundation Trustee Rita Okuthe congratulated Governor Fahim Twaha for initiating Lamu County Government’s Bursary and Scholarship programs that have ensured needy students get an equal opportunity to education. Ms Okuthe promised to continue partnering with Lamu County Government to improve the education sector.
