Mpeketoni and Mokowe Technical and Vocational Education and Training Centers have received their grant from Lamu County, that will go along way in catering for salaries, operations and administrative duties.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Fahim Twaha at Mpeketoni TVET, CECM Education Technology, Youth Affairs, Sports and Social Services Hon. Paul Thairu HSC, said the Governor is committed to strengthen Lamu TVETs’ and VTCs’ to ensure their operations are not hampered and that they will continue offering competitive courses that are relevant and competitive in the job market.
“The existence of Technical institutions in Lamu has provided our trainees with an opportunity of acquisition of practical and applied skills as well as basic scientific knowledge. Lamu County under the leadership of Governor Fahim, shall continue supporting these institutions so as to prepare and qualify graduates for work in the economy as well as to integrate people into society and teach them values and morals of society” Said Hon. Thairu.
CECM Thairu was accompanied by Lamu County Bursary Board Chair Athman Badi, County Bursary Board CEO Mrs. Maliha Mohammed, Bahari ward bursary committee chair Mr. Micah Githuka among other county officials.
