The County Government of Lamu is set to construct a concrete ladder for fishermen at Shanga Ishakani. This was revealed on Monday by Lamu Governor Issa Timamy EGH, OGW when he presided over the groundbreaking ceremony in Shanga Ishakani.

According to the governor the county government will construct the concrete ladder that will stretch 32m towards the sea from the seashore, a concrete seawall, two staircases, and mooring bollards where boats are tied while on the dock.

The Governor is in a week-long Lamu East development tour and is accompanied by top county government officials, Faza MCA Hon. Simba, together with nominated MCA Hon. Medo.
