GOVERNOR TIMAMY PRESIDES OVER TREE PLANTING AND NURSERY ESTABLISHMENT IN WITU

Governor Issa Timamy has presided over the tree planting and nursery establishment project implemented by Voice of Witu Organization under the KEMFSED programme, aimed at promoting environmental conservation and sustainable livelihoods in Witu Ward.

The initiative involves the planting of indigenous and fruit trees, as well as the establishment of a nursery to provide seedlings for community use, enhancing reforestation and climate resilience efforts.

Speaking during the event, Governor Timamy praised the beneficiaries for embracing environmental stewardship and encouraged the community to protect and nurture the trees.

He emphasized that the project will create employment opportunities, improve food security, and contribute to a greener, healthier Witu. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting the initiative will have long-term benefits for both the environment and livelihoods.
