COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF LAMU PROVIDES COOLER BOXES TO KIWAYU FISHERMEN
The county government of Lamu, through KEMFSED, has given cooler boxes to Kiwayu fishermen to address the issue of post-harvest loss.
The cooler boxes were issued by Governor Issa Timamy EGH, OGW. Speaking in Kiwayu on Tuesday, the governor said the cooler boxes will play a pivotal role in assisting fishermen who incur losses after fishing since they either sell their harvest at lower prices or give them away for fear of the fish rotting.
The fishermen expressed their gratitude to the governor for empowering them to boost their activities and committed to putting the coolers to proper use so that they can sustain their livelihoods.
The Governor was accompanied by all CECMs, Chief Officers, County Secretary Amb. Ali Abbas, CoS Mr. Abdulnasir Issa, and nominated MCA Hon. Medo.
