Cabinet Secretary for Industry, Trade & Investment Hon. Rebecca Miano, has emphasised the importance of Northern Kenya counties in tapping to LAPSSET project and redefine their position as the gateway to Eastern Africa.

Speaking on Thursday after gracing the official opening at the Lamu, Tana River, Garissa, Wajir and Mandera County Investment Conference at Lamu Maritime and Innovation centre, the CS underscored the importance of supporting the five counties in harnessing their resources to create job opportunities and unlock their potential.

Under the stewardship of Governor Issa Timamy EGH,OGW, Lamu successfully hosted the joint five-County Investment Conference with an aim of exploring innovative solutions and stimulate economic growth at the frontier arid and marginalised regions.
