Department of Education, Gender, and Sports Distributes Sports gear to Myabogi, Mbwajumwali and Tchundwa Teams
In a bid to empower the youth in Lamu East Sub-County, the Department of Education, Gender, and Sports today distributed sports gear to the Myabogi,Mbwajumwali and Tchundwa teams.
The initiative aims to encourage young people in the area to engage in positive sports activities, steering them away from drug abuse and other harmful behaviours.
Addressing the gathering at Mbwajumwali Hall and Tchundwa Primary during his development tour of the Lamu East, Governor Issa Timamy emphasized his commitment to continuing support for the youth in nurturing their talents.
He urged them to avoid detrimental activities and focus on positive pursuits that can shape their future.
“This support is part of our ongoing efforts to provide opportunities for the youth to excel in various fields, particularly in sports. We want to keep them away from drugs and instead channel their energy into activities that will improve their lives,” Governor Timamy said.
The governor’s assurances were met with enthusiasm from the local community, as they look forward to the benefits this initiative will bring to the youth in the area.
The Governor who is also a Deputy party leader of the ruling party was accompanied by County Secretary Amb. Ali Abbas, Chief Of Staff Abdulnasir Issa, All CECs and COs,CEO LCPSB Amina Omar,Faza MCA Mohamed Aboud among others.
