In a concerted effort to promote youth engagement and bolster sporting activities, Lamu County Governor Issa Timamy EGH, OGW presided over the distribution of essential sports equipment to teams hailing from Mbwajumwali and Tchundwa in Lamu East.

Speaking while issuing the uniforms, the governor said that his administration is committed to empowering the county’s youth through sports talent development among other empowerment programs.

He further stressed the importance of sporting activities among the young people as a way of keeping themselves healthy so as to prevent them from falling prey to drug abuse and other criminal activities.

The Governor is on a working tour in Lamu East to inspect and launch government projects and is accompanied by CECMs, Chief Officers, Chief of Staff, Faza Ward MCA Hon. Simba, Nominated MCA Hon. Medo among others.
