GOVERNOR TIMAMY ISSUES OVER 200 TITLE DEEDS TO INDIVIDUAL PROPERTY OWNERS IN MANDA, LAMU
205 Manda residents from Shella ward have every reason to smile after receiving title deeds in an event which was presided over by H.E Governor Issa Timamy EGH, OGW at Lamu County Headquarters, Mokowe on Wednesday.
The Governor further acknowledged the support of the National Government, stating that the process of issuance of title deeds was a collaborative effort between the National and the County Government.
“This achievement is a demonstration by my administration that it remains committed to resolving land issues and will continue to ensure families are legally safeguarded by issuing them with title deeds through a fair and open process, so that they can develop their land and grow as Lamu grows” said Governor Timamy.
According to Lands CECM Hon.Tashrifa Bakari the new landowners can now use the titles to access credit facilities from financial institutions, affording them the chance to grow their businesses and build permanent homes, free from ownership uncertainties. She further emphasized that this significant milestone comes as part of the ongoing efforts by Governor Timamy’s administration to address land tenure challenges and secure land ownership for residents, ultimately unlocking the economic potential of Manda.
In attendance was Education CECM Hon. Sebastian Owanga, Chief Officers, Shella Ward MCA Hon. Atwaa, Bahari Ward MCA Hon. Gakonga, Hindi Ward MCA Hon. Njaaga and the national government officials led by the County Commissioner.
