GOVERNOR TIMAMY LAUNCHES BOAT AT ISHAKANI BMU

Lamu Governor H.E. Issa Timamy, EGH, on Friday officially launched a new boat at Ishakani Beach Management Unit (BMU), a project supported by KEMSFED through the World Bank and implemented by the County Government of Lamu. The initiative aims to boost local fishing activities, enhance livelihoods, and improve safety and efficiency for fishers in the region.

The Governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor Dr. Mbarak Mohamed, County Secretary Amb. Ali Abbas, members of the County Executive Committee, Chief of Staff Mr. Abdulnasir Issa, Chief Officers, KEMSFED project coordinator Mr. Kamalu, and other senior county officials.

During the launch, officials provided briefings on ongoing and planned projects under the health and fisheries sectors, highlighting the county government’s commitment to supporting economic growth and sustainable development for coastal communities.

Governor Timamy reiterated the county’s commitment to improving infrastructure, livelihoods, and access to critical services across Lamu East.
