GOVERNOR TIMAMY LAUNCHES DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN WITU UNDER KISIP 2

Lamu Governor Issa Timamy EGH, OGW on Tuesday morning launched the construction of major infrastructure development projects in Witu ward to improve roads, footpaths, drainage and lighting.

The project will be undertaken concurrently across six other informal settlement schemes under the Second Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Project (KISIP 2) in partnership with the County Government of Lamu.

Speaking at Witu, Governor Timamy noted the project will be completed before the end of the year and will provide an enabling environment for economic expansion as well as generate employment and empower residents to pursue productive economic activities.

The Governor also emphasized that the project demonstrates the County Government’s commitment to inclusive, citizen-centered sustainable development projects.

The launch was also witnessed by County Secretary Amb. Ali Abbas, Finance CECM Hon. Mohamed Mbwana, CoS Mr. Abdulnasir Issa, C.O Ahmed Ali, area MCA Hon. Farah and nominated MCA Hon. Asha.
