GOVERNOR TIMAMY LAUNCHES GALLA GOAT REARING PROJECT IN MOA VILLAGE
Lamu Governor Issa Timamy has launched a Galla goat rearing project in Moa Village, Witu Ward, aimed at improving household livelihoods and boosting economic resilience among local communities.
The project, implemented by the County Government of Lamu through the Kenya Marine Fisheries Socio-Economic Development (KEMFSED) Project, Phase III, will benefit the Moa Exodus Women Self Help Group, which has received 105 Galla goats and a modern goat house to support proper rearing and management.
Group members expressed their gratitude, describing the initiative as a major step toward improving household incomes and strengthening food and nutritional security.
Speaking during the launch, Governor Timamy also distributed aluminium milk cans, juakali start-up kits, sports kits and fishing nets further supporting income-generating activities, entrepreneurship, and youth engagement in the community.
