HONGWE SPECIAL SCHOOL RECEIVE ASSORTED FOOD STUFF FROM GOVERNOR TIMAMY

Lamu Governor Issa Timamy EGH, OGW on Thursday donated assorted food stuffs to Hongwe Special Integrated Primary school where he spent quality time with pupils and encouraged them during the visit.

The Governor committed on ensuring that all children of school-age, regardless of being physically or mentally challenged are entitled to inclusive and equitable quality basic education in order to achieve a better future.

Speaking at the school where he also delivered a fence chain that he had promised the school, the Governor urged learners with special needs not to allow their disabilities to deprive them of self-confidence in attaining a better future.

“My Administration will not leave any child behind and will continue to promote a basic learning opportunity for all, including the children with special needs,” said Governor Timamy.

Towards supporting the school, the Governor further committed to donate 50 learning desks as part of his administration’s unwavering commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable society in Lamu.

In attendance were, County Secretary Amb. Ali Abbas, CECM Education Hon. Sebastian Owanga, CECM Agriculture Hon. James Gichu, Education Chief Officer Md. Hafswa Difini, TSC Director Md. Riziki Daido among others.
