LAMU COUNTY ISSUES COMMUNITY LAND REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES

The County Government of Lamu, through the Department of Lands and Physical Planning, will on Wednesday, 11th February 2026, issue Community Land Registration Certificates to the communities of Rubu, Mwambore, Ashwei, Simambae, and Mvundeni at Lamu Polytechnic starting 9:00 a.m.

The ceremony will be presided over by H.E. Issa Abdalla Timamy, EGH, OGW, Governor of Lamu County, alongside Hon. Tashrifa Abubakar, CECM for Lands, Physical Planning, Urban Development and Natural Resources, and other county and national government officials.

The issuance of the certificates is a major step toward securing community land ownership, enhancing tenure security, and reducing land-related disputes. It reflects the county government’s commitment to transparent land governance, sustainable development, and inclusive land administration.

This milestone is also a remarkable achievement by the Governor in successfully resettling the first group of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). It underscores the County Government’s commitment to restoring dignity, providing safe homes, and transforming lives through secure land ownership.
