Lamu County Opens ICT Centre In Mkunumbi

Residents of Mkunumbi ward have a reason to smile following the handing over of a newly refurbished ICT centre at Mkunumbi Ward Administrator’s office.

The ICT centre was launched this morning by Lamu Governor H.E Issa Timamy EGH, OGW and will benefit the youth and community in the area.

The ICT center is first among the eight that Governor Timamy promised to establish in each ward in an ambitious project to spur digital transformation across the county.

“We want to create a digital infrastructure where youth can be trained to acquire the requisite ICT skills, access job opportunities and give them the prerequisite exposure to the digital world. ICT is not just an enabler but also an economic accelerator, especially for the unemployed youth” said Governor Timamy.

The Governor is in Mkunumbi ward to inspect and launch Government projects and is accompanied by all CECMs, Chief of Staff, Chief Officers among other county officials.
