LAMU COUNTY RECORDS MAJOR PROGRESS IN PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

Lamu County has registered significant progress in the implementation of development projects following a follow-up review on the status of recommendations made by the Senate County Public Accounts Committee (CPAC), adopted on 27th March 2025.

According to the implementation status report on acquisition of assets, the County successfully implemented 146 projects valued at Kshs. 790,262,423 out of the 186 projects that were initially planned. The implemented projects translate to works worth Kshs. 1,422,550,007, marking a major milestone in strengthening service delivery and utilization of public resources.

The report notes that the progress reflects improved project planning, execution, and monitoring mechanisms, aligned with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012 and the Public Finance Management (County Government) Regulations, 2015.

Lamu County Government has reaffirmed its resolve to further enhance project oversight, documentation, and reporting, including the inclusion of pictorial evidence and clear project outputs, to sustain momentum in development delivery across the county.
