LAMU COUNTY, SAUDI ARABIA STRENGTHEN TIES ON TRADE, INVESTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

Lamu Governor H.E. Issa Timamy, accompanied by Deputy Governor Dr. Mbarak, on Monday warmly welcomed a high-level Saudi delegation to Lamu County, marking a significant step toward strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

The delegation comprised representatives from the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Planning and Economy, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Federation of Chambers, led by their President and Vice President.

Discussions centered on investment opportunities in key sectors, including agriculture, the blue economy and fisheries, livestock, tourism, and other untapped areas of economic potential within the county. The meeting also highlighted the strategic role of Lamu Port in boosting trade and facilitating the movement of goods between Kenya and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The engagement signaled the beginning of a strong and promising partnership anchored on mutual growth, trade, and sustainable development.
