LAMU DEPUTY GOVERNOR INSPECTS DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AT FAZA SUB-COUNTY HOSPITAL
Lamu Deputy Governor H.E. Dr. Mbarak M. Bahjaj on Thursday visited Faza Sub-County Hospital to assess the progress of ongoing development projects aimed at improving healthcare services in the region.
During the inspection, the Deputy Governor expressed satisfaction with the commencement of renovation works at the hospital’s outpatient complex, noting that the upgrades will significantly enhance service delivery and patient experience.
He also confirmed the arrival and operationalization of a brand new Fuji multi-purpose ultrasound scan machine at the facility, terming it a major boost to diagnostic services. Additionally, he announced that a new X-ray machine is expected to be installed soon, further strengthening the hospital’s diagnostic capacity.
Dr. Bahjaj highlighted the successful installation of an oxygen plant at the facility in collaboration with Amref Health Africa. The plant is currently awaiting commissioning and is expected to play a critical role in ensuring a steady supply of medical oxygen.
The Deputy Governor also took time to engage with healthcare workers at the facility, listening to their concerns and updating them on the county government’s plans to improve working conditions and service delivery across the health sector.
The visit underscores the County Government of Lamu’s continued commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring residents have access to quality and reliable medical services.
