LAMU EMERGENCY OPERATION CENTER RECEIVES A BOOST TOWARDS MANAGING DISASTER IN THE COUNTY

Global Implementation Solution through CDC on Tuesday donated office equipment to County Government of Lamu Emergency Operation Center in a bid to boost it’s operations in building resilience and managing disaster across the county.

The center which focuses on safeguarding lives within the County, given the prevalence of emergencies such as road accidents, fires, floods, droughts, and human-wildlife conflicts recieved office stationery, television set, computers and laptops that will play a positive role in mitigating disasters swiftly, ensure seamless communication and offer real-time data analysis.

While receiving the donation on behalf of Governor Issa Timamy EGH, OGW, County Chief of Staff Mr. Abdulnasir Issa expressed profound gratitude to Global Implementation Solution for their steadfast support towards ensuring the center is able to coordinate and respond to disasters within the county.

The donation which focuses on supporting the center with infrastructure and ICT was delivered by GIS Head of Operations and Compliance Ms. Pauline Nyaga.

In attendance was CECM Finance Hon. Mohamed Mbwana, ICT Chief Officer Mr. Ali, Medical Services Chief Officer Dr. Tole, Disaster Chief Officer Mr Kasim, Director Public Health Mr. Mohamed Abubakar, EOC Manager Mr Iftikhar, among other county senior officials.
