Residents of Lamu County have been asked to maintain high level of hygiene and immediately report cases or symptoms of cholera to the nearest health center, inorder to control further spread of the disease.
According to Health Promotion Officer, Muhsin Mohamed, more than 50 People’s have been confirmed to have been affected by cholera in Witu ward.
Two people one from Witu town and another from Kipini have so far lost their lives as a result of cholera outbreak.
“We encourage all Lamu residents to ensure that the water they use is safe as well as to store food well to avoid contermination”, Mohamed appealed.
