Lamu County through MWARP engaged the borderland security Multiagency for a human right and peace building sessions.

Muslim women advancement of rights and protection im conjunction with NCIC and Lamu County Government held a consultative forum with Kiunga ward security Multiagency for a peace building and humanright advocacy training workshop that sought to stretghen the rights of community and atbthe same time foster peaceful coexitentence in the region.

The team were taken through the process, procedures and dynamics of human rights standard as a prerequisite for a peaceful engagement.

Kiunga ward community have born the brunt of rights violation and Pain of insufficient provision of critical services which is seen as a potential source of conflict given its geographical locations amd proximity to somalia.

The facilitators who were drawn from MWARP, NCIC amd lamu county directorate of peace building saw the need to orient the security agents through this reality and capacitate them to deal with these predicament as duty bearers.

The engagement was also meant to stretghen trust, foster cooperation and seal any available loophole that may jeopardise our intended Peaceful atmosphere in the border villages.
