GOVERNOR TIMAMY MODERNISES MPEKETONI TVET, OPENS DOORS TO FREE SKILLS TRAINING

Lamu Governor Issa Timamy has modernised Mpeketoni Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution, strengthening access to quality, practical and market-oriented skills for local youth.

The institution is equipped with training equipment to support hands-on learning, while courses are offered free of charge, removing financial barriers and creating opportunities for young people to acquire employable skills.

Across Lamu County, TVET institutions are engaging qualified instructors on permanent and pensionable terms, enhancing job security, staff stability and continuity in the delivery of quality technical education. This approach also helps attract and retain skilled professionals, ensuring learners benefit from consistent, competent instruction.

The investment underscores Governor Timamy’s commitment to empowering youth, promoting self-reliance and expanding economic opportunities through technical education.
