LAMU COUNTY LAUNCHES RUBU & MWAMBORE SURVEYING IN KIUNGA WARD
The County Government of Lamu through the Department of Lands and Physical Planning, on Wednesday successfully launched the planning and surveying of Rubu and Mwambore farms in Kiunga marking a momentous milestone towards the resettlement of Kenya’s first IDP’s back to their original homes.
According to Lamu Governor H.E Issa Timamy E.GH, O.G.W the move is geared towards securing land ownership rights for hundreds of families, marking a transformative moment in the county’s ongoing efforts to address land-related challenges and promote sustainable development.
Lands CECM Hon.Tashrifa Abubakar noted that the detailed scope of the survey aims to clarify boundaries, resolve disputes, and ultimately grant residents legal documentation.
In Lamu East, the Department of Lands has planned Sendeni/Simambae community land surveying with Saadani, Safirisi and Kauthara currently at its final stages. Additionally, the Department has made significant progress in Vipingoni, Mkokoni, and Kizingitini townships.
