The Lamu County Government, through its Department of ICT, has launched a 10 day digital literacy program aimed at equipping young people with essential technology skills across the 10 Wards.

More than 100 youths from Hindi Ward turned up at the Command Centre to take part in the training, highlighting growing interest in digital knowledge and opportunities among local youth.

The program will focus on practical computer skills, with sessions being conducted at the County Information Digital Hub, where participants will gain hands on experience.

The Technical University of Mombasa has been engaged to provide professional training and will also award certificates to participants upon successful completion of the training.

Participants expressed their appreciation to H.E Issa Timamay Administration for organizing the initiative, noting that it will help them build valuable digital skills that can improve their chances of employment and entrepreneurship.

CECM for ICT Aisha Shariff, said the program is part of ongoing efforts to empower youth through technology and ensure they are not left behind in the rapidly evolving digital world.
