BASUBA VILLAGE IS SET TO HAVE CLEAN WATER FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE INDEPENDENCE!!
Lamu County Government through the Department of Water Management and Conservation has sent a team of water engineers in Basuba village to conduct a ground survey assessment for the establishment of a proposed water project in the area.
The project is part of Governor Timamy’s Water agenda which aims at offsetting water crisis and sanitation challenge in Basuba and other villages.
Basuba is among the villages in Lamu that has never had access to clean water since independence and they solely depend on the security forces to give them the precious commodity which they have to ferry for over 12 kilometers.
The assessment survey is led by Deputy Director Administration, Shee Kupi, Water Engineer Mr. Muthana Bakari and Principal Administrator Abarufa Dido was recieved by Area Chief Mr. Babetu Hamidi Babetu.
