SHANGA ISHAKANI FISHERMEN RECEIVE FISHING EQUIPMENT & COXWAIN CERTIFICATES FROM GOVERNOR TIMAMY
Fishing communities in Shanga Ishakani in Faza ward are a happy lot after having received fishing equipment from the county government of Lamu.
Lamu Governor Issa Timamy EGH, OGW who handed over the equipment, said the donations are meant to turn around the fortunes of traditional fishing folks in the Coastal County. He further noted the equipment is intended to increase the fishing capacity of the fishermen and improve food security and incomes across the ward.
The UDA Deputy Party Leader also presided over the issuance of coxswain certificates to coxwains.
The governor is in Lamu East on a development tour where he has been commissioning and inspecting county government projects.
