88 TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY WORKERS GRADUATE AFTER UPSKILLING TRAINING IN LAMU VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE
In a ceremony filled with pride and accomplishment, 88 workers in the tourism and hospitality sector have graduated at the Lamu Vocational Training Centre following the completion of a 9-day upskilling training program.
The training which was sponsored by the Tourism Fund in collaboration with the Kenya Coast National Polytechnic (KCNP) aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of participants to better serve the tourism and hospitality sectors in the region, which are vital components of Lamu’s economy.
During the graduation, Lamu Deputy Governor H.E Raphael Munyua praised the graduates for their commitment and hard work, highlighting the importance of continuous professional development in maintaining the competitiveness and quality of services in Lamu’s tourism industry.
In attendance were, Chairman of Tourism Fund Board Mr. Samson Some, CECM Tourism & Trade Hon. Aisha Miraj, CECM Education Hon. Sebastian Owanga, Lamu County Chief of Staff Mr Abdulnassir Issa, Chief Officer Tourism & Trade Joyce Murimi among others.
