Lamu Deputy Governor H.E. Raphael Munyua has put a smile on the face of Khamis Omar, a needy student from the Sanye community who could not raise school fees to join form one.

The D.G said he was touched after learning Omar was from the marginalized communities in Kenya and had undergone through a lot of hardship to complete his primary education and secured him an admission at Mpeketoni Boys national school.

The Deputy Governor who is an alumni of Mpeketoni Boys pledged to be Omar’s guardian and further assured him he will not only educate him through high school education, but also the university.

Omar could not hide his joy following the Deputy Governor’s gesture saying that his parents live in abject poverty and his hopes to continue with education had been rekindled.
