MPEKETONI BOYS SECONDARY SCHOOL AWARDED Ksh.4.9M SCHOLARSHIP CHEQUES FROM GOVERNOR TIMAMY

220 form one students from Mpeketoni Boys Secondary school have today been awarded a scholarship cheque worth Ksh.4.9 million as first phase payment for the academic year 2024.

In a ceremony held today at Mpeketoni Boys Secondary school, the Governor issued the scholarship cheque to the outstanding, bright and needy students. The Council of Governors Blue Economy Committee Chair, congratulated the Form one students who managed 300 marks and above assuring them of the County’s commitment to sponsor their full secondary education.

He lauded the great strides towards improvement of education in Lamu under his administration saying it has greatly improved the general performance of the county, as many more students continue striving to hit and even surpass the 300 marks target.

Deputy Governor Raphael Munyua challenged the children to work hard so that they can reap the benefits of this program.

Education CECM Hon. Sebastian Owanga underlined the Bursary Board’s commitment to push Governor Timamy’s education agenda of fully supporting all outstanding students throughout the program.

Also in attendance was County Secretary Amb. Ali Abbas, Chief of Staff Mr. Abdulnasir Issa, Bursary & Scholarship Board Chair Mr. Athman Badi, Lamu Boys Principal Mr. Juma Mathias, Lamu West MP Representative Mr. Jeremiah, TSC County Director Rukia, BoM/PTA members, Education Sub-County Director Md. Rukia, area Chief Mr. Githinji, parents/guardians.
