NEPAD CEO DISCUSSES WITH LAMU GOVERNOR ON HOW TO MAXIMISE UTILISATION OF LAMU PORT AND LAPSSET CORRIDOR

NEPAD/APRM Kenya Chief Executive Officer, Amb. Dr. Samori Okwiya, alongside officers from the Secretariat has today paid a courtesy on Lamu Governor HE Issa Timamy EGH, OGW to discuss on how to maximize utilisation of Lamu Port and the LAPSSET corridor.

The visit comes as part of the Secretariat’s ongoing efforts to engage with regional authorities and oversee development projects under the LAPSSET corridor.

The NEPAD/APRM team’s presence in Lamu is particularly focused on monitoring the lamu port and the LAPSSET corridor which aims at enhancing trade and connectivity within the region and holds significant importance for Kenya’s economic growth and integration with neighboring countries.

Also in attendance was Lamu County Secretary Amb. Ali Abbas and Chief of Staff Mr. Abdulnasir Issa.
